A Declaration of Happiness

In the summer of 1776 a declaration was made on the East Coast of Colonial America.

“We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness.”

These men pledge to each other their lives and adopted into law the Declaration of Independence on the 4th of July.

Today in America, and many other parts of the world, these freedoms rightful extend to all people regardless of gender, color, or belief.

On the 4th of July, we celebrate this declaration by coming together in the most human way possible…

Cave Person + Fire + Food = We Grill

How much do we grill? 750 million pounds of chicken. 190 million pounds of red meat and pork.  150 million hot dogs. Washed down with 68.3 million cases of beer.  

Excessive? Yes. We’re like that sometimes. But since our first Thanksgiving, we’ve been sharing our meals with others. * 155 years before our Declaration of Independence.

According to the World Giving Index, Americans are 2nd best at sharing.

Sharing a meal can be a healthy pursuit of happiness.

So can savoring the moment.

“It’s the practice of being mindful and noticing the good stuff around you, taking the extra time to prolong and intensify your enjoyment of the moment, making a pleasurable experience last for as long as possible.”

So, this 4th of July start by giving thanking those service members who’ve sworn to protect our human rights.

But liberty bring an opportunity to be out best!

Whatever you decide, you’ll be more happy if you try to help others.
