The Personal Injury & Litigation Team – McIntosh Law Firm

Firm Overview

That’s right! The Personal Injury Team of the McIntosh Law Firm – SANDY CARNEGIE, JIM FULLER and JENNIFER ERRINGTON – have been named again in 2015 by the publishers of “Best Law Firms in America.” In addition to their law degrees, each member of the PI Team is a Davidson College graduate.

“We work hard for our clients, and we fight to win,” said Sandy. Our primary goal is working efficiently and effectively to bring about a settlement – a full and fair settlement – at the earliest realistic time.”

A former judge and president of the Trial Lawyers Association, Jim describes what he views as the ingredients for the Team’s success in litigation, especially personal injury cases: “Together we bring robust energy, which we combine with both experience and youth. Plus, teaching keeps us on the cutting-edge of our practice.” Jim has taught classes and full courses in Trial Advocacy at Duke, UNC, Wake Forest, and Charlotte law schools. “Sandy and Jennifer have joined for a number of the classes, and we worked as a team to lead off the much-complimented CLE program held in Mooresville for regional lawyers in the Lake Norman area. Again in 2015, Jim has been recognized by “Best Lawyers in N.C.” and “N.C. Superlawyers.”

As a recent law school graduate, Jennifer brings excitement to the experience of Sandy and Jim. She was a recognized leader in law school trial competitions, and clerked with Sandy and Jim for over three years before joining them in practice. Jennifer adds to Sandy’s considerable computer skills, and joins with paralegal Bruce Franklin to give the PI Team the most advanced technological skills in this region. As Jennifer puts it, “We have the very latest in high-tech, including a 60” Smart TV that looks like it came straight out of a TV crime show–and we know how to use it to tell our clients’ stories in the most effective, persuasive way possible.”

As PI Team coordinator, Sandy brings a wealth of experience, having tried and won major trials at every level of state and federal courts. In addition, working with Jim, he has handled successful appeals to the N.C. Court of Appeals and Supreme Courts and the Fourth Circuit (federal) Court of Appeals in Richmond. Sandy says, “As we work toward our goal of a full and fair settlement for our clients, we know–and so does the other side–that we can–and will–go to court and go to the mat to fight for our clients to get what they deserve. That’s our pledge, and it’s one we fight to bring to life.”

Jim concluded this discussion by going back to the term “TEAM.” We fight for our client’s success and are committed to quality service every step of the way. Our Team is more than three lawyers who work well together. Our Team includes skilled, highly-trained paralegals who work with the lawyers on the substance of the case, and who take the lead in providing personalized service that saves our clients time and expense while providing a caring, comforting ear. Colleen Budzisch, Amanda Richardson, and Janice Adams join with Jim, Sandy, and Jennifer to make “A Team That Works–For You.”
